About G.R.A.C.E.

G.R.A.C.E. The Greater Rolla Area Charitable Enterprise was created by the religious community in Phelps County to care for the needs of those in this county living in Edgar Springs, Newburg, and Rolla School Districts who are in need of food or financial assistance to tide them over temporary difficulties.

G.R.A.C.E. is an organization incorporated in the State of Missouri that was developed in 2000 to evaluate and respond to the emergency needs of individuals and families.  Our goal is to serve those in need while treating them with the utmost respect.

G.R.A.C.E. screens, coordinates, and refers families to community service organizations and provides direct assistance as resources permit.  We work closely with our other organizations in the area to maximize efforts to help each client and reduce duplication of services.  We financially assist clients with rent, electric, medications, heat, air conditioning, and gas.  We also assist in unusual circumstances as they arise on a case by case basis.

From its creations as a not-for-profit group, G.R.A.C.E. has been directed by a Board of Directors, responsible for setting policy and goals.  Tina Davis, our Executive Director, along with our volunteers work tirelessly to follow those goals and help those in need receive the best assistance they can.

Several churches contribute directly to the overhead of the organization and many of them have active food pantries, which allows donations to go directly to Direct Assistance for clients.  G.R.A.C.E. does not accept federal or state funds so all donations come from individuals or businesses.

G.R.A.C.E. assists families with Thanksgiving and has an outstanding Christmas program called G.R.A.C.E. for CHRISTMAS, which serves over 400 families a year with gifts and food.  The program has grown larger than ever over the recent years, allowing us to give many families and children a very special Christmas.  The entire G.R.A.C.E. for CHRISTMAS project is accomplished using volunteers, a true labor of love.

We also have a program we called G.R.A.C.E. for KIDS that assists children with various needs.  A teacher, nurse, or councilor who sees a child without a basic need, such as shoes, socks, backpack, clothing etc. can call us with a request for the item and we will supply the school with the item for the child.  This program is designed so that the children remain anonymous.

G.R.A.C.E. could not function without all of our wonderful volunteers.  Many of them help out every week and without the surge of help during the holiday season we would not be able to provide our special services.  They are the backbone of this organization and we would like to thank each and every one of them for their contributions.
